Awards

Thank you to all of our donors and those who have and continue to contribute time, service, and money to the Nick Vuono Charity Fund so that we can continue to meet your needs.

The Nick Vuono Charity Fund awards individuals with special needs and agencies in the Westerly community with items that can improve their daily lives. Some past awards include: computers; adaptive bikes, iPads, wheelchair lifts and ramps, sensory adaptive playground equipment, adaptive beach equipment, educational learning materials and programs, language development materials and programs, etc.

The awards are given out with applications being open from September to November of each year, a review of how applications match our mission, and distribution of awards between January and February.

We are grateful for the advocacy of those who connect the Nick Vuono Charity Fund with those in need, including Brittany DeLuca, the Special Education Teachers, Speech Teachers, and Physical Therapists working in the Westerly – Bradford School System, The Frank Olean Center, the Westerly Recreation Center under Julia Beasely, the Westerly Johnnycake Center and the Westerly Library.

Over the past 3 years, we have given out our highest number of awards responding to the needs of over 22 families and 4 agencies.
